Elm Cabinet

This cabinet was specifically designed to seat a Television and house the clients various electrical and stereo units according to their exact dimensions. Elm was selected for it's beautifully curling, knotted, natural edges, as well as the lovely coloured flecks of green and gold found in the grain. The size and layout of the cabinet and its shelving was custom built according to the size and shape of the individual units. In this case, no mechanical fixings (screws/bolts etc) were used and the timber was joined purely with tenon and dado joints. As much time was spent on surface preparation of the cabinet top and sides as the actual joinery of the unit to produce the beautifully smooth finish. Dimension (cm) = H 55 W 60 L 100

Ewe Bookcase

The shape and colour of the ewe used for this bookcase spoke for itself and alot of time was spent on cleaning and preparing the complex nooks and crannies of the edges of the timber. The shape, size and position of the shelves was carefully chosen to keep the proportions of the bookcase looking right. The shape and colours found in the ewe tree make it one of my favourite types of timber which works in harmony with my style of furnature.
