All items of furnature are priced according
to material costs (timber per cubic foot, fixings and finishings
etc) and labour costs (labour time inclusive of all workshop costs etc)
and an idea of the expected cost is given below for each piece assuming
something similar were to be produced. However it should be born in mind
that a great deal of time, care and attention is required for the selection
and aquisition of these beautiful, interesting and totally unique
pieces of wood that are actually quite hard to come by on many occassions.
Indeed certain tree species can become completely unavailable for
long periods of time now and then. Similarly, a lot of effort goes into
the design and construction as all work is done by hand without the aid
of heavy machinery and each piece is custom designed to be a 'one off'.
Whilst the craftsman works for the love of making new, interesting
and unique pieces of furnature please consider these points when assessing
the real value of our products. Delivery costs can also be quoted
and this is done by weight when a courier is used for areas outside of
Bristol. |
Elm bookcase
Constructed of solid 3/4 inch elm, this modestly sized bookcase
was designed to really show off the incredible swirls and knotted
patterns of the grain, as well as the wonderful curling waney edges
that really caught my eye. The simple construction utilises old
fashioned coach bolts to add character and rigity. the dimension
and layout allow this bookcase to be both reversible (i.e. turned
on it's head for a different perspective) and either wall hung
or stand alone.
Dimensions (cm) = H 95 W 30 L 60
Finish = Polyurethane clear satin varnish
